Both are now stone cold. Along with the fallen heroes lies the corpse of Lord Voldemort, and a new warlord has risen in Britain. Internment Camps are set and all those who rebel are murdered viciously. Some are slaughtered for pure amusement. The international Ministries are drawing up plans to save Britain from the Death Eater's rule, but the Death Eaters have infiltrated their countries and no one is to be trusted. The Last Alliance, a small group of wizards who escaped from Britain, may very well be their only hope. It’s about power. status: epic style alternate universe, work in progress information: oh wow, this was started back in 2002, almost eight years ago now, with a five-year hiatus that recently ended after I graduated university this spring (yay!). I first started writing this after Goblet of Fire, so it takes on a very different plot, tone and interpretation than the books written by JK Rowling (it is an AU after GoF, so it disregards any and all aspects of OotP, HBP and DH). I do have Book I finished and the first chapter of Book II written, and I will get to posting those eventually. But it remains to be seen if I will continue. It actually depends on two thing: one, if my muse has abandoned me after all these years; and two, if there is still a reader-base out there. I do have all of Book II planned out, and I am rather fond of it. How can I not be after all the work that has been put into this piece of fanfiction? I am not happy with the writing in the first ten-or-so chapters, and I think I will be editing them soon. Again. Looking over this story, I can see how my style of writing has evolved over the years. To Remus, monsters were always hairy creatures who ran from rabbits or ducks with scissors. At his fifteen years of age, he didn’t understand that monsters defined so much more than what the television showed, that some humans could choose to be monsters. Hesitate is a ficlet that takes place before the events in Losing Faith, as well as during Losing Faith, and tells the story of Alexander Montague and Leland Derrick. Alexander Montague was never going to join the Death Eaters and kill his friends, although it drove a wedge between him and his lover.
